Vestido Burda 1/17 ::: Burda dress 1/17

Vámonos de boda! Este año hemos tenido una boda familiar muy esperada y me he atrevido a hacerme el vestido. El modelo elegido ha sido el vestido 112 del Burda de enero.

Wedding party! We were looking forward to a family wedding this year and I decided to sew my dress. I chose the 112 dress from the January edition of Burda magazine.

Me compré la revista por este modelo precisamente. Me encantaron los volantes y es que este año están por todas partes. Le hice algunas modificaciones al patrón: mangas francesas y bolsillos en las costuras. Por cierto que mi madre estaba horrorizada con eso de añadir bolsillos a un vestido fino pero yo creo que tampoco se notaban y son muy prácticos. Para hacer los bolsillos seguí este fantástico tutorial de Megan Nielsen.

I specifically bought the magazine for this pattern. I loved the flounces which seem to be everywhere this year. I made a couple of alterations: 3/4 sleeves and seam pockets. By the way, my mother was shocked with the idea of adding pockets to a smart dress but I do not think you could tell and they really useful. I followed this great tutorial by Megan Nielsen for the pockets.

Blusa con alforzas/ lorzas ::: Pintuck blouse

He hecho dos blusas con este mismo patrón. La primera me quedó un poco grande así que la heredó mi madre y es que todavía no me aclaro mucho con las tallas. Siendo un patrón japonés pensaba que sería  pequeño pero va a ser que no, incluso en la talla pequeña tuve que poner un pliegue extra en el centro para cerrar el escote un poco. Total, que viendo mi problema ajustando patrones me he comprado el libro Fit for real people que me está ayudando mucho.

I have made two blouses using this pattern. The first one was a bit big so I passed it on to my mother. Being a Japanese pattern I assumed it would be small but that was not the case, even in the smallest size I had to add an extra pleat at the centre front to adjust the neckline. Anyway, I was made aware of my fitting issues so I bought the book Fit for real people which has been very helpful so far.

El patrón es de la revista Coudre c'est facile, en este caso era un número especial en el vienen un montón de modelos.

The pattern is from the Coudre c'est facile magazine, a special issue with lots of projects.

En las instrucciones había un par de atajos interesantes como coser la cinta al bies al cuello antes de cerrar una de las costuras de los hombros y terminar el bies los puños antes de coser las mangas.

There are a couple of nice shortcuts in the instructions like finishing the neckline with bias binding before sewing one of the shoulder seams and same for binding the sleeves before sewing the sleeve seams.

La tela la compré en Leicester. Y aquí estoy yo en el Design Museum con mi blusa.
